Training Needs Assessments Analysis

Assessments Analysis

The Johnson Applied Solutions Training Needs Assessment is an analysis that determines the type of training required by employees and the best way to implement that training.

Johnson Applied Solutions training assessment tools and processes are used to:

  • Identify training shortfalls
  • Develop new training programs
  • Improve the quality of training
  • Make training more effective and valuable for employees

Our purpose of conducting a training needs assessment is to identify performance requirements and the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) essential for the workforce to achieve organizational mission success. An effective training needs assessment will help direct resources to areas of greatest demand.

Johnson Applied Solutions focuses in on three levels of a training needs assessment:

Organizational Assessment

Organizational Assessment

Evaluates the level of organizational performance. An assessment of this type will determine what skills, knowledge, and abilities an organization’s needs. It determines what is required to alleviate the problems and weaknesses of the organization as well as to enhance strengths and competencies.

Occupational Assessment

Occupational Assessment

Examines the skills, knowledge, and abilities required for affected occupational groups. Occupational assessment identifies how, and which occupational discrepancies or gaps exist, potentially introduced by the new direction of an organization. It also examines new ways to do work that can eliminate the discrepancies or gaps.

Individual Assessment

Individual Assessment

Analyzes how well an individual employee is doing a job and determines the individual’s capacity to do new or different work. Individual assessments provide information on which employees need training and what kind.

Johnson Applied Solutions assessment tools and surveys will determine your organizations desired outcomes, link desired outcomes with employee behavior, identify training competencies, evaluate competencies and determine Performance Gaps.

Results determined from the needs assessment will allow your organization to set the training objectives by answering two very basic questions:

  • “what needs to be done?”
  • “why is it not being done now?”
